WELCOME to the Southend Business Booster scheme and congratulations for discovering the most advantageous, easily accessed business support package available.
Whats on offer?
Business Boosters can be seen as parcels of time that can be spent with a range of business specialists or as parcels of value, which can be exchanged for beneficial business services such as membership of Essex Chambers of Commerce.
Each qualifying applicant will be awarded a maximum of twelve Business Boosters, each worth one hour of business guidance or up to £25 in exchange value, though this may vary where VAT is applied. There are some restrictions on how Business Boosters can be awarded and redeemed. These can be explained to you in more detail by the helpline team.
How it works
The range of specialist business guidance available is listed on the flyleaf. Should you require support in an area that is not listed it may be possible to arrange this when you talk to the helpline team.
Guidance sessions can take place in person, via email or by phone whichever is mutually convenient for those involved. However, you should bear in mind that if you ask those giving the guidance to visit you, their travelling time will also be taken into account.
Please remember that the scheme will be restricted to a limited number of beneficiaries and will run for as long as funding permits. You are advised not to leave it too long before applying.
Who will give the guidance?
Those providing support are professional experts, each with their own speciality. They have been carefully selected and invited to participate because of their enthusiasm and willingness to support local entrepreneurs.
To ensure high standards each guide has been vetted and has agreed to operate within the Business Boosters Code of Conduct. Most will have a close personal understanding of starting a business and of the common growing pains that can be encountered so you can count on being in helpful and experienced hands.
Who is eligible?
Naturally you will need to observe the terms of the scheme and assist the Networking-on-Sea helpline team to complete their commitments to you in an accountable way. You might also be asked to permit your case to be used as an example success study. You will qualify for Business Booster support if:
- your business is less than three years old
- you are a sole trader or if you employ less than ten people
- your business is based in an area covered by Southend Borough Council
